Alba hadn't done all that much metal bondage before visiting Restrained Elegance, so it is always a pleasure to introduce her to new methods of restraint. This one is a slightly less cruel version of a historical torture method called the scavenger's daughter (also known as Skeffington's daughter or Skeffington's irons). The principle is that neck and ankles are connected by solid rods - a single rod in this case- that makes it impossible to stretch or in any way change the distance between your head and your feet. The hands are then cuffed part-way along the rod, originally fixed in place but in this more playful incarnation allowed to slide along it. It doesn't look like much but as you can see from Alba's expression, it is seriously constraining and gets stressful pretty damn quickly. The sliding hands gave her just enough freedom to change her centre of gravity so she could lie down. And that was about all she could do!
