One's submarine needs maintenance, the Clockwork soldiers of Baron Vokaria interrupt one's dinner parties, and as for being bitten by a ravening fiend from beyond the grave and turning into a vampire overnight - well, it's just an occupational hazard. And it is SO tiresome to have to deal with all the piddling little government departments. Her Majesty's department for haemophagic study and control, I ask you! It's like they make these things up just to be inconvenient. I suppose one can see the logic in the silver chains and the bit gag, specifically designed to prevent me from ripping any of their throats out. But honestly- I'm a noblewoman, I went to University, I have manners! I'm not some footling Medieval warlord with fangs and dirty fingernails!
