It's a little honour in it's way. The caretaker's award of merit, if you like. Its not awarded every year. Only on years when there is a deserving recipient. A member of teaching staff who has been outstanding in her treatment of the "menial" staff. Someone who knows the hierarchy and uses it to justify his or her bad behaviour. Like Miss Price. Miss Price knows all about them-and-us. Town-and-gown. Never mucks in. Always causing trouble. And just plain being toxic. Well, this year is her lucky year. She's going to get the Caretaker's special award at the Hallowe'en prom. Now she knows, and he knows, and all the staff know that this is outside all bounds of propriety. She doesn't know that the pictures will be shared all around the school (although she'll find that out soon enough). But the great thing is that Hallowe'en provides such perfect cover for ambushing a horrible member of staff, dragging them down to the catacombs beneath the school, tying and gagging them in their pretty prom dress and all manner of humiliations. It's all in the name of fun, though, isn't it, Miss Price?
