Fabulous Faye looking fantastically hot as a playful bondage kitty, handcuffed, leg ironed, collared and captured! (And thanks to Lucy Lauren for lending her cute cat ears for the set!)
This was an experiment with some new lighting gear - a large-diameter LED ring-light. I like the cool circular catch-lights that these big ring-lights can provide, but the flash-based ones we've used for stills in the past don't have a large enough diameter to really create the effect (certainly not without being so close to the model with a really wide-angle lens that you get a lot of distortion). And the flash-based ring lights are all far too powerful to shoot very shallow depth-of-field, at least without putting a 10-stop ND filter or something in front of the lens (which would get in the way rather and probably produce lots of reflections, too).
The other continuous-light ring lights I've got are also a bit on the small side. One is a fluorescent tube light with ghastly zombie green colour rendition, the other is an early-generation LED light with a small diameter and too-yellow colour rendition. It was time to try again.
The results of this ring light are a hundred times better. Having RGB LEDs plus tungsten white and daylight white means it is a bit dim, but has really good colour and colour control. The larger diameter makes it easier to shoot through- and unlike the usual configuration of the light moving with the lens, we could set it up on a stand and shoot through it, moving the camera while the light stayed more static, which helped reduce the other perennial problem of ring-lights, which is drastically changing exposure.
The final technical ingredient to creating this look was to use a long room, close off all other sources of light, have Faye right at the end of the room near the camera and have a shallow depth of field. That allows a graceful fall-off of the background to dark, out-of-focus hints, which is a really nice look which we don't usually have the equipment or the space to achieve.
Then we let Faye loose with the posing and she knocked it out of the park, and Steve behind the camera did an ace job of capturing
it all. Very pleased with the way it all turned out! Oh, and if you wonder what the bruise on Faye's bum is about, that was a souvenir of her first hard spanking, delivered by Zoe Page earlier on that day, in a historical epic video coming to the site in 2020!
