When we were shooting Trophy Girlfriend shop, we did something pretty unusual for us these days- shot almost the whole thing in one rolling take. And as it happened, we had the master wide camera rolling the whole time. So I thought as a bonus video for you I'd just show you the whole film from the master wide behind the scenes. As you can see in the final version we used the footage from my gimbal camera almost exclusively- I'd conceived the idea as a roving point of view (POV) camera. We had the master wide rolling as we sometimes do when shooting an improvised scene, as a fallback in case the tighter camera(s) don't have a good shot. In this film I was in a lot of the master wide footage as I played the customer's point of view at the shop which made it harder to use, but mostly Ariel stuck with the POV camera in the edit because it was better for the storytelling.

It's also unusual for us to get the whole of a film in one go like this (although we'd already tied Ariel and Lucy before we rolled the cameras). This style of shooting - multiple cameras, cutting between them, or concentrating on a single POV camera- is very common for website production, and one can see why - it's quite efficient. My favoured style (one camera, lots of shorter takes, with time to line up and optimise each shot) is good for cinematic results, but sometimes a "one-er" (something shot in one take) is the better option.

P.S. I need to get back out into the mountains and do more walking - I'm looking particularly chubby and unappealing in this one, sorry! Been a tough year for me one way and another physically and my fitness has suffered.
